Amazing ventilation

Full disclosure: I was provided with a free sample for the purpose of putting it to the test. So I did - for three months.
Trail running - I wear this right against my skin with nothing else on top for temps between -5 to 0 degrees Celsius. I start out slightly cold, everything zipped up and wearing the hood. As I warm up I start to slowly unpack. A small breeze goes right through it and cools me down comfortably, particularly under the arms. The ventilation is amazing.
One suggestion I have is to have elastic wrist cuffs. I can't 'roll up my sleeves' for additional heat dumping, cause this thing gets warm even by itself in -5 degrees. And I don't sweat a lot. This has become my go to piece of gear for my winter trail runs.

Snowboarding - just a great lightweight mid-layer. I love that I can bring up the hood over my balaclava and the helmet still fits. Once you layer this with a solid windbreak it provides ample heat while feeling lightweight and cozy at the same time.

Hiking - Get's hot quick in warm weather. Not ideal with backpacks. Not ideal when bushwhacking since the material is not designed to resist abrasion. I still give it a 5 star, since it wasn't designed to do these things. I does what it was designed for extremely well.

Great piece of gear

I have only had the Lobtree Shift Alpha for a couple of weeks and have used it mostly for day hikes and some snow shoeing so far. I love the fit and all the features that this hoodie comes with. Very comfortable and does an amazing job managing moisture and regulating my body heat in the cooler weather while hiking. When coupled with my vertice rain jacket, provides more warmth than my ghost whisper puffy. This hoodie will definitely be part of my year round backpacking gear. I would highly recommend the Lobtree Shift Alpha Direct 120 hoodie.

Perfect for cold weather

It is a great layer for cold weather. I stayed warm outside all day. The hood fits nice and snugly, and I can zip up the jacket to cover my cheeks from the cold and wind. I highly recommend it for any outdoor adventures!!
