I haven't had a chance to use this for it's intended purpose (backpacking) but I am very pleased with the quality of the workmanship and fit. I love the thumb loops for the hands and it does seem like it will be warmer than expected (while active). I'm someone who is very cold while static and very hot while moving, so I think the combination of breathability with warmth while under a wind blocking layer will be perfect. I am a smaller person (5'4" 120lbs) and was worried the xs might even be too big, but it fits perfectly. Great time to support this Canadian business!

Really excited to see a Canadian startup making this gear—and right near me in Ottawa! This garment is very well made with flat stitching, YKK zipper, Lycra trim at wrists and waist. Fit is perfect with sleeves just a little long to allow use of thumbholes in sleeves. I’m 183cm(6’), 92kg (200lb) with 42”’chest and athletic build. Size large fits me perfectly without excess bagginess. Neck closes perfectly with zipper garage so no irritation. The 60gsm fabric is perfect for high-intensity activity like fatbiking. Layered with a windshirt (or without!) it moves sweat quickly and yet keeps warm in freezing temps. I originally bought (and kept) the 120gsm hoodie version for hiking and got the 60 gsm (hoodless) at same time for cycling. Nick, founder of Lobtree, has something special in this gear and the price is well worth the quality.
The Lobtree Alpha Direct 60 crew is the newest addition to my collection of AD pieces (hoodies, leggings, socks, quilt). I've been very happy using it as part of my ski touring layering system. It is well made and was shipped quickly. I'm 6"1', 160lb and he Medium works but is a bit wide and short for build

I have been wearing my trusted grid fleece hoody for years, but have always found once I get moving I usually get too hot. The Pace Crew in Alpha 60 has been a game changer. When I am moving I wear it alone, or with a light merino base layer if its cooler. It breathes so well I can wear it all day. hiking, paddling, cycling. If I do sweat at all it dries super fast. When I stop I just toss on a light shell over it and it warms me right up. recently I tested it on a canoe trip where it got down to 3 degree Celsius over night. In the morning... around 5 Celsius I had it on over merino base-layer and was surprisingly comfy! No longer am I pulling off my heavy fleece sweater after I heat up only to tie it around my waist. I can wear this all day comfortably. fit and finish from Lobtree appears to be outstanding. seams are well constructed, fit is athletic but not to snug. similar to Arcteryx if those products fit you well. For reference I am 6'3" approx 210lbs and the large fits perfectly. little extra length in the arms which I really appreciate.
